Upon arrival, transferred to Tiberias for overnight.
12 APRIL2007/ STELLA MARIS/CESARIA/NAZARETH
Visit Stella Maris, the Carmelite Monastery, mass. Caesarea,
capital of Judea under the Romans. Visit the excavations of
the ancient city, the Roman theatre and aqueduct. Nazareth;
Church of Annunciation, built over the place, where Angel Gabriel
announced the birth of Jesus to the Virgin Mary. St Joseph’s
workshop, Holy Family’s home, Mary’s Well, Synagogue.
Return to Tiberias.
13 APRIL 200-CANA/BEATITUDES/CAPERNAUM
/SEA OF GALILEE
Depart to Cana, for mass and renewal of the wedding vows. The
first public miracle of Jesus Christ occurred here Water into
Wine. Tabgha; is the site of the miracle of the multiplication
of the fish and loaves. Mount of the Beatitudes, where Jesus
delivered the Sermon on the Mount “Blessed are the poor
in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of Heaven. Blessed are
they that morn: for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the
meek: for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are they which
do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be
filled…Capernaum, The city built on the northern shore
of the Sea of Galilee, it is referred to Jesus’ “own
city”, it became the center of His ministry. Visit the
synagogue and St. Peter’s house. Our day will end with
a boar ride on the Sea of Galilee, at sunset; it was here that
Jesus walked over the waters. Return to hotel.
14 APRIL 2007- GALILEE/JORDAN/JERASH/PETRA
Depart Tiberias early morning to the boarder of Israel and Jordan
to cross Seick Hussein Bridge. After customs and immigration,
continue to Jerash. This Roman City is nestled in a quiet valley
and it is the grandeur of Imperial Rome being one of the largest
and most well preserved sites of Roman architecture in the World
outside Italy. Its paved colonnaded streets, soaring hilltop
temples, handsome theatres, spacious public squares, and city
walls pierced by towers and gates remain in exceptional condition.
Continue to Bethany Beyond Jordan, the BAPTISM
SITE OF JESUS, a holy place, which has a mysterious
“life” of its own, as if it were a haven of the
Spirit, continue to Petra for overnight.
15 APRIL 2007-PETRA -/MOUNT NEBO /AMANN
PETRA “The red
rose city of rock” one of the biggest treasures, of the
ancient world, hidden and almost impenetrable, boasting incomparable
scenes that make it the most majestic and imposing ancient site
still standing now a days. It has been said “there is
nothing in the world that resembles it. It is full of mysterious
charm, the capital of the Nabataean Kingdom conspicuous both
for its great natural beauty and for the magnificence of its
monuments. Mount Nebo, one of the most holy sites of Jordan.
Upon Mount Nebo God revealed Himself to Moses he stood and looked
over the promise land stretched out in front of him. It was
here that Moses lived for almost 40 years, where he spent his
last days and where he is buried, overnight in Amman.
16 APRIL 2007-AMMAN/JERUSALEM
After a brief visit to Amman, depart to Israel and on wards
to Jerusalem to visit; Mount of Olives, Chapels of Ascension,
to Jesus ascended Heaven, The Grotto of Lord’s Prayer
where HE taught his disciples the Lord’s Prayer, Garden
of Gethsemane where he wept on Palm Sunday, today it appears
as it did 20 centuries ago, within it are some of the world’s
oldest olive trees. Here Jesus spent His last night, the most
sorrowful hours of his passion.
Holy Mass in the Church of all Nations, or Basilica of Agony,
that enshrines a section of bedrock identified as the place
where Jesus prayed alone in the garden on the night of his arrest,
Jesus left with his disciples and crossed the Kidron Valley.
On the other side there was an olive grove, and he and his disciples
went into it, overnight in Jerusalem.
17APRIL 2007-JERUSALEM/ BETHLEHEM/ EIN KEREM/ JERUSALEM
This morning we depart to Bethlehem to visit the Shepherd’s
Field, and the grottos of the shepherds “And there were
shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over
their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them
and said; “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news, of
great joy that will be for all people. Today in the town of
David a Savoir has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord.
You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manager.“
Glory to God in the highest, and peace to men on Earth”
Nativity Church, in the heart of Bethlehem marks one of Christianity’s
most sacred sites, the birthplace of Jesus Christ. The church
is built over a grotto where the Virgin Mary gave birth to Jesus.
It is the oldest churches in the world. Return to Jerusalem
and continue to Ein Kerem, this village, in a deep valley and
the birthplace of St. John the Baptist, overnight in Jerusalem.
18 APRIL/JERUSALEM
Today will be the culmination of our journey, We enter the Old
City of Jerusalem; first is a visit to the Wailing Wall by the
Temple Mount and the Dome of the Rock, Tomb of King David, Room
of the Last Supper, St. Anne’s Church and the pools, site
where Jesus cured the blind man, Sisters of Zion, Chapel of
the Flagellation, Via Dolorosa, the path that Jesus followed
carrying the cross, to Calvary, where he was crucified (we too
will carry a cross through the Via Dolorosa) Holy Sepulcher
where the most holy moments of the death and resurrection of
Jesus Christ took place. The Church of the Holy Sepulcher is
the Worlds holiest shrine to Christians; it was first built
in the fourth century by Saint Helena. It contains the last
five Stations of the Cross; it also contains the Chapel of Golgotha
19 APRIL- JERUSALEM
Free day to return to the Old City or to take advantage of the
optional tour to the South of Israel; to Qumeran, where the
Dead Sea scrolls were found, Massada, the last stronghold of
the Jews after the destruction of the Second Temple in 70 A.D.
Ascend Mt. Massada by cable car and float on the Dead Sea. Return
to Jerusalem to Hotel
