DAY 1- LISBON / ESTORIL/SINTRA/ESTORIL
Your rent a car will be dropped off for you at the hotel. Drive
to Sintra, UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE. Stroll around, this picturesque,
historic village. Visit Palace da Vila and Pena Palace. Continue
to Cascais. Return to Estoril for at Hotel Sana Classic with breakfast.
DAY 2-ESTORIL/ MAFRA/ AZENHAS DO MAR/ ERICEIRA/ ESTORIL
Drive North to Ericeira, a small fishermen’s village. Perfect
spot for a stop and a relaxing drink by the sea. Continue to Mafra
and visit the Convent (one of Europe’s biggest convents,
and the biggest Royal Library in Europe). Proceed to Azenhas do
Mar. Return to Estoril.
DAY 3- ESTORIL/ ALCOBACA/NAZARE/BATALHA/OBIDOS
Óbidos, a white washed, medieval walled town. First check
in at Albergaria Josefa D’ Obidos. Depart to visit Alcobaca
Monastery. Here you’ll see the tombs of Pedro and Inês,
one of the most famous Portuguese love stories. Drive to Nazaré,
the most typical fishing village of Portugal. Go up to Sitio for
one of the most beautiful views. We strongly suggest that you
sample some of the famous dishes of fresh delicious fish. Proceed
to Batalha; visit the Monastery of Our Lady of the Victory. Return
to Obidos for overnight at Albergaria Josefa D’Obidos with
breakfast.
DAY 4 - OBIDOS/BUÇACO/VISEU,.
Depart, Obidos to Bucaco Forest with its magnificent Royal Palace.
We highly recommend a walk through the woods and fern alleys.
Depart to Viseu, One of the most beautiful towns of Portugal.
A walk through its old quarter is a must; also visit Grao Vasco
Museum and the Cathedral, overnight, in Viseu at Hotel Grao Vasco
no breakfast.
DAY 5- VISEU /LAMEGO/PINHÃO/SABOROSA
Depart to Lamego, to visit the Sanctuary of Nossa Senhora dos
Remedios, with is magnificent Baroque staircase of 686 steps.
On to Pinhao in the heart of the Douro Valley, where some of the
most famous Porto wine farms are found. Proceed to Pinhão
for some of the most magnificent views of the region. Continue
to Sabrosa for overnight at hotel Quality Inn Sabrosa no breakfast.
DAY 6- SABOROSA/VILA REAL/BOM JESUS DE BRAGA
Drive North West towards Braga, on the way stop at Matues Rose
Palace in Vila Real. Proceed to Bom Jesus de Braga; visit this
beautiful Sanctuary, overnight at Hotel Do Parque with breakfast
DAY 7- BRAGA/BARCELOS/GUIMARAES/BRAGA
Today you will be exploring the “green” region of
Portugal, called Minho.The city of Guimarães, known as
the cradle of Portugal. Here was born Portugal’s first king.
Visit the Castle and the Palace; take a walk through the old city
along its narrow streets, bordered with granite houses, centuries
old. Continue to Barcelos, famous for the legend of the rooster.
Return to Bom Jesus.
DAY8- BRAGA/PORTO
Visit Braga’s Se Cathedral. Drive south, to Portugal’s
second city Porto. It is a city rich in history and tradition.
Drop off car at the hotel, overnight in Porto, at Hotel Infante
de Sagres no breakfast.
DAY9-PORTO
Spend your last day visiting this historic city. Visit, Palacio
da Bolsa, Cathedral, Sao Francisco Church, Ribeira, cross to Vila
Nova de Gaia to sample the Porto wine in one of its famous bodegas.,
return to hotel for overnight.
