DAY1-LISBON/ÉVORA/REDONDO
This morning your rent a car will be dropped off for you at the
hotel. Drive through the plains of Alentejo to Redondo via Évora,
the Museum City of Portugal (World Heritage). Visit the Cathedral,
Temple of Diana, Sao Francisco Church and the Chapel of the bones.
Return to Redondo for overnight at the beautiful Convent of Sao

DAY2- REDONDO/MONSARAZ/ESTROZ/REDONDO.
Full day, to explore Alentejo; visit Monsaraz, the unique fairy
tale Village all enclosed by Medieval walls, very well preserved.
Continue to Estroz, an attractive well sited and important garrison
town, noted for its earthenware and its white marble a must to visit.
Return to Redondo for overnight at the Convent of Sao Paulo no breakfast.
DAY3- REDONDO/MARVÃO/CASTELO DE VIDE/ MARVAO
Depart to Marvao, a fortified medieval village. Here you will be
taken by the beauty of this hilltop medieval town crowned by its
castle with superb views of the landscape around it, as far as your
eyes can see. Proceed North to Castelo de Vide. Visit what it used
to be one of the Jewish towns of Portugal. A must is a walking tour
of Castelo de Vide, through its picturesque streets, bordered by
14th.15th and 16th century houses. Return to Marvao, overnight at
Hotel Garcia da Horta no breakfast or Pousada Sta Maria in Marvao
with breakfast (for stays up to 28 Feb 2005)
DAY4-MONSANTO/BELMONTE/SORTELHA/COVILHA
Depart early to Monsanto, one of the most talked about, historic
villages of Portuga, perched on a hill with its century old granite
houses, with its red roofs. Continue to Covilha, check in at the
hotel, and depart to Belmonte to visit the medieval Castle. Proceed
to Sortelha, a fortified medieval village, with a special atmosphere,
overnight in Covilha at Hotel Dona Maria no breakfast.
DAY5- COVILHA/ LINHARES DA BEIRA
The scenic drive, along to Guarda and on to Celorico da Beira, will
capture you. Continue to Linhares da Beira 20 Klms South from Celorico
da Beira. Linhares a g of medieval villages and to overnight here
is an experience of a life time. A walking to discover this g
is a must. Overnight at the Pousada St. Eufia with breakfast
DAY6-LINHARES DA BEIRA/COIMBRA/OBIDOS
Depart to Obidos. A g of a different colour a fairy tale, medieval
whitewashed village. Again, only by walking through its little cobblestone
streets and along its medieval walls, one can appreciate its beauty,
overnight in Obidos at Albergaria Josefa with breakfast.
DAY7-OBIDOS/ALCOBACA/NAZARE/BATALHA/OBIDOS
Depart to Alcobaca to visit the Monastery of Alcobaca and the tombs
of Pedro and Inês, one of the most famous love stories a Portuguese
will ever tell you… continue to Nazaré, go up to Sitio.
For lunch sample some of the delicious fish dishes. On to Batalha,
to visit the Monastery of Santa Maria Da Vitoria, return to Obidos.
DAY8–ÓBIDOS / SINTRA
Departure to Sintra. Visit to the Royal Palace and the historical
centre. Have lunch in a typical restaurant. Proceed to Cabo da Roca
(Roca cape - the most westerly point in continental Europe). Continue
to Cascais, overnight in Sintra at Hotel Tivoli no breakfast.
DAY9-SINTRA/LISBON.
Drive to Lisbon to drop off car. End of tour
